Adamo by Dell – contralaptop to MacBook?
The newest line launched by Dell, having as target the MacBook fans, seems to meet the expectations. Slim, slick, powerful, with quite big battery autonomy, seems the perfect response to the Mac version.
Since I can’t compare the systems more that by looks, seems that Dell slaps the Apple in face – it is the first time when a device really levels to the looks of an Apple MacBook. Crisp screen, clean design, lightweight – seems that the managers have a new shiny toy at their disposal.
I will let you discover the rest…

Yes, the Adamo has a nice design when compared to most of the PC notebooks (BTW, there are also other examples that look nice), but there are worlds between its design and that of the MacBook Air. The Adamo is often compared to this Apple product even if I don’t think that the target group is the same – Apple’s clientele is entirely different from Dell’s. So, maybe the Dell Adamo will be a nice for managers – but not for those that used an Apple MacBook Air, they will continue to use it, and if it’s for running Windows on it. But, frankly – far from a “slap in Apple’s face”.

This competition will stand a chance once they will be able to come up with a version of windows that can match OSX. (and as far as it looks now, windows 7 is still far away from that)

I only wanted to point out that it is the first attempt from PC world to take a share from the Apple Market. And, since there is a big share, maybe in future everyone will want a cut – HP, IBM, Acer etc. This competition is most beneficial to us, users.

Yes, you’re right – but maybe a third party company will do a face lifting to Windows.
